British Steel, Trostre - Pickle lines had a recurring problem with bearing and seal failure. This long-standing problem was due to the cocktail of acids being used in the process attacking the seal lip bonding. Our solution was a redesigned seal incorporating our proven SpringGuard lip design, and a mechanical bonded sealing element. This was so successful that we were asked to supply this design to other parts of the plant.
